As puppy grows, so do his ears – they develop cartilage. If you let the ears hang down (or fold on the top of his head) as cartilage develops – the ears will grow keeping this shape. Your puppy's breeding is a good indicator of whether his ears will stand up. Dogs inherit the prick ear from their wolf ancestry, so you'll see standing ears on wolflike breeds with thick, double coats such as the Alaskan malamute, Samoyed, and Siberian husky.Primitive breeds such as the Mexican hairless, basenji, and pharaoh hound also have naturally standing ears and a sleek, short coat. white bumps in dog ears 1. Insect Bite. The bites from a poisonous spider or insects such as hornets, ticks, midges, fleas, bees or wasps can cause bumps on the dog’s ear flap. The site of the sting fills with fluid and swell. Their ears also help them to maintain balance. Some canine breeds have ears that are short and stand straight up, while other dogs have long, floppy ears. It is also possible to. Start out by cleaning your puppy’s ears. It’s best to work with a freshly bathed, dry puppy. Natural dirt and oil on your puppy’s ears will not allow the tape to stick to the ear flap. Clean the puppy’s ears, inside and out with isopropyl alcohol or an ear cleaning product.

You should remove the tape every 5 to 7 days to ventilate the ears. Check the, often because some dogs need a rest after 3 to 4 days. You must have patience and perseverance, this takes time. She napped for a couple hours and woke up with her ear folded on top of her head...it has been about two days and she is still doing it...a nurse at her vet told me that this is just the cartiledge.
